Lisa has been involved in writing, editing, and media relations since 1996. Her focus on small businesses and nonprofit organizations stems from her belief in their missions.

With a range of experience "on both sides of the desk"—as both a writer/editor and a public relations professional—serves as a useful tool in reading the needs of the media and effectively working with them. Lisa's clients have been featured on television news and profile programs and in trade and consumer magazines and newspapers.

On the internal- and business-communication front, Lisa has crafted columns for organization executives, developed marketing and sales materials, written and designed newsletters, and assisted business leaders in constructing more professional, easy-to-digest communications.

Before turning to the freelancing area of her career, Lisa worked on staff with businesses and nonprofit organizations, including as the assistant editor/publications coordinator of a 33,000-member nonprofit organization, as the media manager with a marketing agency specializing in equestrian sports, and as the public relations coordinator of a nonprofit youth organization.
